Module 5’s stacked-pay worksheet caught a double-count risk between my quarterly commission and annual bonus. I still found the live sessions paced quickly when German legal terms appeared without a glossary pause.
German Bonus Clause Studio
Flagship training for reading, questioning, and negotiating compensation language in German employment offers.
Overview
Built for candidates mid-offer, not for bar exams
You will practice employment consultations in Germany with a narrow lens: compensation and bonus clause review. Expect annotated samples, live critique, and a final brief you can reuse when HR sends a revised draft.
Informational price: included in Negotiation Desk (€420) or Counsel Track (€780). See pricing. No checkout on this site.

Six studio blocks
- First-pass annotation. Highlighter rules for triggers, conditions, and silence.
- Target architecture. Individual vs company metrics; corridors vs binary gates.
- Discretion language. Voluntary, revocable, and “subject to” patterns common in Germany.
- Time & pro-rata. Joiners, leavers, leave periods, and payment calendars.
- Stacked pay. Commission overlays, deferred cash, and referenced plan documents.
- Brief & rehearsal. Write the ask; practice the call; revise after feedback.
Outcomes
What you leave holding
- A marked-up copy of your own offer (or a provided sample if you prefer privacy).
- A one-page question list ordered by risk, not by curiosity.
- A negotiation script that separates facts from preferences.
- Optional counsel-ready export if you enroll via Counsel Track.
Instructor
Dr. Lena Ortmann
Former in-house HR counsel turned educator. Lena leads Magdeburg studio sessions and focuses on teaching candidates how to brief specialists—without pretending the studio replaces them.
Learner notes
Short take: the rehearsal in Module 6 made my HR call quieter. I stopped apologizing for asking how targets are set.
FAQ
Before you enroll
Is this legal advice for German employment law?
No. The studio is educational. We teach a review method and preparation habits. For advice on your specific contract, consult a qualified attorney in Germany.
Do I need an active offer letter?
Helpful, but not required. We provide anonymized samples. If you bring your own, redact names and salary figures you prefer to keep private.
What is a real limitation of the course?
We do not cover Tarifvertrag-specific schedules in depth. If your role is tightly bound to a collective agreement, treat our materials as a complement to union or works-council guidance—not a substitute. Also, English is the course language; German clause excerpts appear with translations, which can miss nuance.
How long does the flagship take?
Most Negotiation Desk cohorts finish in about eleven days with two evening sessions per week plus workbook time.
